Portland area homes that sold for more than $1 million during the pandemic include historic mansions - OregonLive

Almost nine out of 10 homes sold in the Portland area were priced below $750,000, according to J. Lennox Scott, chairman and CEO of John L. Scott Real Estate.

Due to a continuing shortage of inventory, sales activity of these residential properties were either frenzied or surging toward that, Scott stated in a report based on October 2020 data.

Scott’s analysis found there was also a low level of unsold inventory in Portland’s $750,000 to $1 million price range, and he called sales activity in this top-tier category surging toward greater intensity.

Which Portland area homes priced above $1 million have changed hands in the last months, during the coronavirus pandemic and high unemployment? Here’s a sampling:

A classic circular drive fronts the storied house, which was built in 1916 and has four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and 9,829 square feet of living space.

The 1.57-acre gated estate has space for a pool and tennis courts, said listing agent Kathy Hall with Kevin Hall of Hasson Company, who described the “iconic historical beauty" as “exuding the elegance and charm of yesteryear with fully updated systems and infrastructure.”

There are panoramic views of the city, Willamette River and mountains from the paved entertaining area with a grill and fireplace as well as from the garden, lawn and putting green.

“The home was comprehensively restored with impeccable hand-chosen material throughout,” said listing agent Libby Benz with Drew McCulloch of Windermere Realty Trust.
