LANSING, MI -- A lottery ticket worth $25,000 a year for the rest of the winner’s life was sold on the Michigan Lottery website for the Lucky for Life drawing on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The winning ticket matched all five white balls drawn -- 05-26-28-37-42 -- to win the prize.

This marks the seventh time this year that a player has won the $25,000 a year for life prize. The winner now has the option of receiving $25,000 a year for the rest of their life or a minimum of 20 years, whichever is longer or they can receive a one-time lump-sum payment of $390,000.

The player has one year to contact the Lottery to claim their prize. The winner is asked to contact Michigan Lottery Player Relations Division at 844-887-6836, option 2. The winner must claim the ticket at Lottery headquarters in Lansing.

For the latest on Michigan Lottery, check out the official Michigan Lottery site, which also offers more information on instant tickets, raffles and other lottery games.

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is the Wolverine FLL lottery club which claimed a $1.05 billion jackpot in March 2021. With their winnings, the group plans to give back to the community.

And while they were lucky winners, it’s smart for players to check their tickets immediately as a winner worth $1 million sold in Warren last year went unclaimed. The money instead went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
