Brundage Mountain is the property of a new ownership group today.
The DeBoer Family sold the resort north of McCall to a newly formed company, Brundage Mountain Holdings. The family will keep an ownership stake, as well as an unnamed group of owners who “have strong ties to Idaho and McCall.” State of Idaho filings inidcate Brundage Mountain Holdings is controlled by Repool Holdings of Boise, Repool is controlled by Robert Looper.
A news release said Looper would lead the new company. He started serving on the resort’s board of directors in 2018, and became president and managing director in 2013.

“We are looking forward to growing the resort for future generations while honoring the history that has made Brundage a special place for McCall and the surrounding region,” said Looper. “Through Judd’s leadership over the last 40 years, the resort expanded its terrain and improved skier services for local families and visiting guests. We are fortunate to have this strong legacy as a foundation for the resort’s future.”
Family-owned since the beginning
Principal owner Judd DeBoer and his wife Diane owned Brundage through their Browns Industries after taking over full control by purchasing a 50% stake owned by the family of JR Simplot in 2016. Judd DeBoer died this spring at the age of 81. The DeBoer and Brown families maintained at least partial ownership of the resort from its founding in 1959 through the latest move.

Today, Brundage employs as many as 300 people during the peak skiing season and spreads across 18,000 acres with lodges, snowcat skiing, and more.
“(Looper) has worked directly with our family for the past 12 years and understands the character and charm which make Brundage unique,” Brundage director Mike DeBoer said. “Our vision has always been to provide a friendly, family-oriented, affordable skiing experience for everyone and we know Bob and his team will enhance and keep that vision.”
Brundage said planned development projects outlined in a 2009 planning process will move forward – including a new mountain village with base are lodge and all-season facilities.
