Flyer Homes Real Estate
Here’s something you don’t see everyday. A home comes on the market that no one else has had the opportunity to own since the Sound of Music was released, since Charlie Sheen was born, since The Rolling Stones first began to experience difficulties getting ANY satisfaction.
People of the world, feast your eyes on 1000 N. Crest Drive.
As far back as when your parents were filling up the Bonneville for 30¢ a gallon, buying this house has not been an option for anyone, and boy oh boy have people been missing out. Snugged into almost an acre on a very private street on Mount Sequoyah, the location just doesn’t get any better. Close to everything in Fayetteville, like the Entertainment District and the upcoming cultural arts corridor, the new natural foods store, the trail system, and less than a mile to Root Elementary. That’s a 15-minute walk, 6-minute bike ride, 3-minute drive, or 6,336-minute snail ride. And yes, I did the math. Stay in school, kids.

And there was clearly not a window shortage back in ’65, because this house has tons of ‘em, making for a very bright and cheerful indoor space. All the better to see the many upgrades that have happened over the years. Heck, in 2012 most of the house was taken down to the studs and the kitchen was remodeled (granite counters, new cabinets, gas cooktop), wiring was upgraded and insulation added in the walls, HVAC units replaced, new gas fireplace, and two of the bathrooms were renovated.
More recently, luxury vinyl plank flooring was added in the main living areas, along with new fans and fixtures. Attic insulation was replaced, new guttering and a French drain was installed, and the interior was freshly painted bright white, a blank canvas for you to make your own.
The home has a stellar layout. While in the kitchen, you have a living room on one side of you and a family or dining room on the other. Huge windows look out to the back yard and the expansive deck. The master suite is nicely separated from the other two guest bedrooms and every guest gets a bathroom of their own.
And did I mention the bidet in the master? Now that’s just good clean fun.
If you think about it, there just aren’t many houses out there you’d want to buy and live in for 56 years. One to which you come home everyday for 56 years, wave to the neighbors, soak in the serenity of Mount Sequoyah, look around and say “Yeah, it just doesn’t get any better than this.” It’s no wonder that this bright house on the mountain is one such property.
