From homes with full house generators to mansions fit for royalty, here’s a list of the most expensive homes that sold on Zillow in Alabama last month.

1. 2295 West Beach Boulevard, Gulf Shores, AL 36542
One of the most expensive homes sold in April is a five-bedroom, three-bathroom home in Gulf Shores, which sold for $1.61 million. According to the Zillow listing, it’s furnished to sleep up to 13.
There’s two levels of balconies on the home, overlooking a private entrance to the beach.

2. 3600 Park Lane South, Mountain Brook, AL 35213
This five-bedroom, five-and-a-half bathroom home in Mountain Brook sold for $1.509 million on April 30. According to the listing, the home has a formal living room, his and hers sinks in the master bedroom, along with floor to ceiling closet shelving.
3. 2325 River Forest Drive, Mobile, AL 36605
The Zillow listing for this $1.2 million home sold on April 19 says it’s is perfect for entertaining. One look at the pictures on the Zillow listing easily confirms this.
The home sits on more than eight acres of waterfront property, according to the listing description. Among the home’s amenities are a basketball court, pier and a boat house.

4. 3250 Dolphin Drive, Gulf Shores, AL 36542
Property on or near the beach is always a hot commodity, especially as the days heat up and get longer. This $1.05 million home sold on April 30.
The five-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom house was first built in 1990, but underwent a first-floor renovation just last year, according to the Zillow listing.
5. 1905 Kensington Rd, Homewood, AL 35209
The exterior of this Homewood home resembles a castle and the interior helps support the royal feel. Built in 1928, the interior is rather modern, but still pays homage to the castle-like aesthetic.
According to Zillow, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom home sold on April 6 for $875,000.
6. 161 Lakeland Ridge, Chelsea, AL 35043
With an elevator, an upstairs and downstairs kitchen and six bedrooms nestled on lakefront property, it’s no surprise this 6,258-square-foot home sold for $835,000 last month.

7. 4210 Copeland Island Road, Mobile, AL 36695
This home in Mobile sits on 20 acres and boasts around 1,000-square-feet of porches, according to its Zillow listing. The main home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, with an in-law/pool house that has additional living space.
It sold for $800,000 on April 7.
8. 2441 Choctaw Road, Gulf Shores, AL 36542
This Gulf Shores home is less than 5-years-old, but has increased in value since the land was first sold in 2011, according to Zillow. The home’s new owners purchased it for $742,000 on April 9.
The home has water views from every room, along with an outdoor shower and beach access a quarter of a mile down the road, according to the listing.
9. 116 Gulf Court, Gulf Shores, AL 36542
Located close to the beach and near Lagoon access for boating and fishing, this five-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom home sold on the last day of April for $715,000.
There’s front and back balconies available on the first and second floor of the home, along with parking for up to six vehicles, according to the listing.
10. 460 El Camino Real, Chelsea, AL 35043
If you’re a horse lover, you missed out on this four-bedroom, four-bathroom home in Chelsea. The home, which sold for $625,000 on April 23, according to Zillow, comes with not only its own barn and pasture area, but a nearby neighborhood equestrian trail.
11. 3900 10th Ave. South, Birmingham, AL 35222
With over 4,400-square-feet, this home built in 1920 sold for $620,000 on the very first day of April. There’s four bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms inside of the home, according to the Zillow listing.
JanieMac Roe, a realtor with LAH - Mountain Brook Branch, said that the home was on the market for 194 days, which is way longer than average.
“The home was listed in the fall and was on the market longer than most, about 194 days,” Roe said. “That’s not typical, but this is not a typical home.”
Roe added that even though the home did not sell as quickly, she was still able to get a good price for it.
“The listing market here is pretty crazy. Most houses are going under contract the minute they’re listed,” Roe said. “There such a high demand for housing in our area that we have to show the house the same day or you have no chance.”
The demand will only continue to increase into June, according to Roe. She said that as people start traveling more for summer vacations, the market does slow down again, but will picks up toward the start of the school year, as families try to find homes in school districts that they prefer.
12. 2520 Lanark Road, Birmingham, AL 35223
This three-bedroom, three-bathroom home sold on just the second day of April for $600,000. It was built back in 1926, according to the Zillow listing. The home has a whole house generator, a master bedroom with a fireplace inside and more.
13. 63 South Hallett St., Mobile, AL 36604
Located in Mobile’s Old Historic Dauphin Way District, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom house sold on April 28 for $458,000, according to Zillow.
Some of the 1902 home’s many features includes an English garden with a koi pond, a Japanese garden with a dry creek bed and fireplaces both upstairs and downstairs.
According to the listing, the home was once used for entertaining visiting clergy and later, a bed and breakfast.
