Following a rough week for the major indexes, U.S. stocks were flat in after-hours trading Sunday night, signaling a muted open Monday.

Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 futures were near the break-even line, with Nasdaq Composite futures ahead 0.2%. The indexes declined 1% this past week.

Investors will be watching for more details on the Federal Reserve’s plan to cut its bond-buying at the virtual Jackson Hole meeting later this week. The Economic Policy Symposium starts Thursday and Fed chair Jerome Powell gives his keynote address on Friday.

Earnings this week include Madison Square Garden Entertainment on Monday; Advance Auto Parts, Best Buy, Intuit, and Toll Brothers on Tuesday; Autodesk, Salesforce. com, Ulta Beauty, and Snowflake on Wednesday; and Burlington Stores, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Dell, Gap, HP Inc. , Peloton and J.M. Smucker on Thursday.

The housing market will also be in focus this week, with the National Association of Realtors reporting existing-home sales for July on Monday and the Census Bureau releasing new single-family home sales for July on Tuesday.

Investors will also watch shares of Uber Technologies and Lyft after a California judge ruled Friday that a proposition that would allow the companies to continue treating their drivers as contractors instead of employees was unconstitutional.
