The big Powerball Jackpot may have gone to one lucky winner in California, but there's still a $50,000 winner somewhere in Connecticut.

Nearly $700 million dollars is a lot of money, and one person in California matched all the latest Powerball numbers to claim the big prize, but according to lottery officials, there's still a $50,000 ticket yet to be claimed here in Connecticut.

The latest winning Powerball numbers were 12-22-54-66-69 and the Powerball was 15. The Power Play was 2x.

After nearly 40 consecutive Powerball drawings without a winner, a ticket sold in Morro Bay, California bagged the big bucks, a total of 699.8 million dollars. According to nbcconnecticut.com, the biggest dollar amount for this drawing in Connecticut was $50,000, and there were 19 tickets that picked up $200 dollars. All in all, there were actually 28,888 winning tickets sold in Connecticut with prize money for those tickets ranging from $4 dollars to the $50,000 dollar prize.

The $50,000 winner, yet to be claimed, matched four numbers plus the Powerball, and that ticket is worth $50,000. The numbers for the rest of the winners in Connecticut, 14 tickets had four matching numbers and those tickets are worth $100 dollars, with $200 dollars going to those who did the Power Play. 48 tickets sold in Connecticut matched three numbers and picked up $100 dollars, but those who elected the Power Play doubled their money and won $200 dollars. There were 1,265 tickets that matched three numbers to win $7 dollars, with over 400 of those getting $14 dollars due to the Power Play. Plus, there were other winning tickets sold that were worth four dollars or less.

Powerball numbers have been drawn three times a week since August to try and increase the jackpots. The drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday's at 10:59 PM.
