A Powerball ticket worth $1 million was bought in New Jersey for Saturday’s lottery drawing, officials said.
New Jersey Lottery officials will disclose where the lucky, second-prize Powerball ticket was sold later Monday morning. It matched five numbers but not the Powerball. In addition, there were three $50,000, third-prize tickers sold in the state, each matching four numbers plus the Powerball.
No one across the country hit the $270.3 million drawing, pushing the top prize for Monday’s drawing to an estimated $280 million with a cash option of $205.6 million.
Saturday’s winning numbers were: 10, 40, 45, 56, and 67. The Powerball drawn was 2 with a Power Play of 2x.
There was also a $1 million ticket purchased in Michigan.
No one hit the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing on Saturday. There were also no second-prize, $500,000 tickets sold. The Double Play numbers drawn were: 6, 19, 36, 46 and 59. The Double Play Powerball was 8.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 of winning the third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball is played on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
New Jersey Lottery offices remain open by appointment more than 20 months into the coronavirus pandemic.
