The four-bedroom, four-bath homes will be built to Gold Fortified standards. The 40-unit Pelican Place condo complex was destroyed during Hurricane Ivan in 2004.

Watch for two new subdivisions in Gulf Shores: The five-lot Sandpiper Cottages at 1476 Sandpiper Lane along Little Lagoon has been approved by the Planning Commission. And North Lagoon Estates on 5.65 acres will feature 15 single-family homes in the 17000 block of Ala. 180 West. The property is the site of the former Callaway Cottages.
