The Mega Millions jackpot has climbed to $347 million with no big winner in Friday night’s lottery drawing, but three tickets - including two sold in New Jersey - are worth $1 million each after hitting the second prize.
New Jersey lottery officials typically disclose the locations where $1 million tickets were purchased after the weekend. That announcement could be delayed until Tuesday due to the state holiday on Monday
The winning Mega Millions numbers for Friday’s drawing were: 5, 8, 13, 22, 48. The Mega Ball drawn was 25 with a Megaplier of 2x. The jackpot for Friday’s drawing was estimated at $325 million.
The two tickets worth $1 million sold in New Jersey matched five numbers, but not the Mega Ball. The other second-prize ticket also worth $1 million was sold in Minnesota.
The jackpot for Tuesday’s drawing rolls to an estimated $347 million with the cash option estimated at $239.4 million.
No one has hit the Mega Millions jackpot since a family in Lake Havasu, Arizona won the $108 million prize on Oct. 22. They chose the cash option of $75.2 million before taxes.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The New Jersey Lottery offices in Lawrence are now open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. if players prefer to drop off claims and validate winning tickets in person. Claims can be left in a secure drop box at lottery headquarters. That option applies to prizes worth more than $599.50.
If a player wins a prize of $25,000 or more (or otherwise feels more comfortable submitting a claim in person) appointments can still be made to meet with a lottery representative in person by calling 1-800-222-0996.
Prizes valued at $599.50 or less should still be claimed at lottery retailers.
