Brooklyn Real Estate Listings Six Months Later: All Four Sold - Brownstoner

rinwengi.blogspot.com

This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Flatlands, Bay Ridge, Dumbo and Prospect Lefferts Gardens. How did they fare?

For the buyer who can see the potential in this estate-condition brick Tudor in Flatlands, a thoughtful renovation could give it some necessary upgrades while maintaining the innate 1930s charm. The single-family has some historic details along with a generously sized kitchen, a bathroom per floor, three bedrooms and a garage. This former House of the Day sold in April for $700,000, which was $25,000 under the asking price.

A modern small house when it was built in the 1920s, this Bay Ridge one-family appears neat as a pin. It has windows on all four sides, a sunroom, and original details such as arched doorways, moldings and parquet floors. There is also a finished basement, two-car garage, three bedrooms and nicely landscaped front and rear yards. This former House of the Day sold in April for $1.45 million, which was $100,000 over the asking price.

This true loft in the Sweeney Building in the Dumbo Historic District has a spectacular view of the Manhattan Bridge from its living room and detail-perfect finishes, including an enviable laboratory-inspired kitchen and marble bathroom. With one legal bedroom, this former Co-op of the Day sold in April for the asking price of $1.975 million.

In the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Historic District, a bow-fronted brownstone on Midwood Street has a myriad of circa neo-Classical details as well as recent updates. Most of the house’s extensive woodwork is painted white, and there are stained glass windows, a columned mantel, a pier mirror, built-in bookcases and a window seat. The four-bedroom single-family and former Open House Pick sold in April for $2.44 million, which was $245,000 over the asking price.
