Rising mortgage rates may be slowing overall home sales in the Bay Area, but the high-priced sale of this modest home in San Jose proves the market still has plenty of momentum.
This 1,335-square-foot house, which has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, sold for $2.61 million in late June — nearly a half a million over its original listing price of $2.198 million.
The property features an open floor plan with a dining room, a fireplace and an updated kitchen. It also boasts a quiet patio/backyard area with persimmon, peach and orange trees. The home sits in a prime location in West San Jose near the Cupertino border, freeways and tech companies.
Michelle Cherie Carr Crowe with Altas Realty was the listing agent for the sale.
The home was last purchased in 1986 for $164,000 according to public records. That’s a far cry from the current median sale price for the area at $2.358 million, up 16 percent from the previous year, according to Redfin.
