A Mega Millions ticket worth $3 million sold in New Jersey for Friday’s lottery drawing was purchased at a Wawa in Burlington County as the jackpot for Tuesday’s drawing jumped to $790 million.

The lucky ticket was bought at the Wawa on Oakshade Road in the Vincetown section of Shamong, New Jersey lottery officials said Monday.

It matched five numbers, but not the Mega Ball and was one of four second-prize tickets sold nationally. It is worth $3 million instead of the standard $1 million because the winner spent an extra $1 on the Megaplier option.

Other $3 million tickets were sold in Delaware and New York. A $1 million ticket was purchased for Friday’s drawing in Virginia.

In addition, seven third-prize tickets were bought in New Jersey. Each matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball.

They were bought at the following locations:

  • 7-Eleven on 357 Market Street in Elmwood Park
  • Applegreen Cooper at New Jersey Turnpike service area in Mount Laurel
  • Garden Truck Stop on West Garden Road in Vineland
  • QuickChek on Route 88 in Point Pleasant
  • ShoprRite on Sotuh Davenport Street in Somerville
  • QuickChek on Westfield Avenue in Clark
  • Wawa on Route 22 in Phillipsburg

Friday’s winning numbers were: 14, 40, 60, 64 and 66. The Mega Ball drawn was 16 with a Megaplier of 3x.

No one across the country hit Friday’s $660 million jackpot, pushing the top prize for Tuesday’s drawing to $790 million with a cash option of $464.4 million. The jackpot might increase if tickets sales are brisk enough.

If someone wins it would be the fourth largest in U.S. lottery history and third biggest Mega jackpot.
