CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The house from “A Christmas Story” has been sold. But who bought it and how much they paid for it remains a mystery.

“A Christmas Story House & Museum is pleased to announce that we have reached a deal for a change of ownership,” the current owner wrote on the property’s Facebook page. “We expect to have the agreement finalized by the end of November, at which time we will introduce the new owner.”

Brian Jones purchased the home for $150,000 in 2004 after seeing a listing on eBay and opened it as a tourist attraction two years later. Last November, he put the house, along with the nearby museum and gift shop, the adjacent Bumpus House and four additional properties, on the market without a listing price.

“Brian’s heart is set on $15 million,” actor Yano Anaya told cleveland.com in January. Anaya, who played Grover Dill in the original “A Christmas Story” film, was at one point part of an investment group interested in buying the properties.

It remains to be seen if either party was successful in their efforts. But Jones is assuring fans the leg lamp in the window will remain on for the foreseeable future.

“Operations will continue as usual during and after the transition,” the Facebook post said.

Built in 1895, the Parker house, located at 3159 West 11th St., was used primarily for exterior scenes during the filming of the holiday cult classic in 1983. Next month, actor Peter Billingsley, who played Ralphie, will join nearly a dozen of his co-stars in what is being called the “biggest cast reunion ever” at an event put on by the Greater Cleveland Film Commission.
