More than 2,700 state fair concert tickets sold on opening day - KSNB Local 4

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The box office opened up and people can finally start purchasing tickets for the Nebraska State Fair.

They’ve already sold more than 2,700 tickets and this is promising seeing that they only opened for the first time on Friday.

There’s still thousands and thousands of tickets to be sold but Executive Director Bill Ogg is very pleased and flattered by the response thus far.

“We need about 3,500 people or tickets sold to break even on the talent costs for each of these events,” Ogg said. “With these initial numbers, I’m feeling glaringly optimistic.”

Ogg said they’ve got more than just concerts but tons of activities worthwhile for families.

“There’s over 4,500 hours of entertainment and attractions that are available to them within those 11 days, roughly 190 hours a day, you can’t take it all in,” Ogg said.

People can purchase their tickets online or at the box office in the Nebraska Building.
