Tampa’s Horizon Park shopping plaza, just north of Raymond James Stadium at the intersection of Dale Mabry and West Hillsborough Avenue, has sold. The price tag was $22 million, and it closed July 19, according to its new owner, Mishorim Gold Properties, a Wesley Chapel-based commercial landlord company.

Stores at the 215,713-square-foot strip mall include dd’s Discounts, Conn’s Home Plus, Northern Tool + Equipment, Guitar Center, Dollar General, Pizza Hut and Sally Beauty. Two adjacent buildings not connected to the strip mall, with a Wells Fargo and Applebee’s, were also included in the sale.

There’s another store on the way. Two days after Mishorim Gold Properties bought the strip mall, Ross Dress for Less signed a lease to occupy a 30,000-square-foot space formerly home to Youfit and Save-A-Lot, raising the occupancy rate from 86 percent to 98 percent, according to a news release.

“We love Tampa, the energy of the people and the spirit of the community,” said developer and landlord Mark Gold in a statement. “We look forward to putting Horizon Park on the map and being a leader in commercial retail properties in the region.”

Mishorim Gold Properties is a partnership between Gold and Mishorim Investments, which invests mainly in commercial and office real estate in Israel and the United States.

Mishorim Gold Properties prides itself on “bringing old shopping centers back to life,” according to the release. It recently purchased the Grove strip mall in Wesley Chapel and Holiday Mall in Holiday, adding new tenants and attractions to both, including a high-end “movie theater of the future” at the Grove.

The firm plans to give Horizon Park a facelift by improving the landscaping, updating the outside of the buildings and “adding new unique tenants,” spokesman Ben Norton said.
