Stocks headed toward their biggest rally since March as dip buyers scooped up companies that stand to benefit the most from an economic revival. Treasuries dropped.
All major groups in the S&P 500 advanced, led by financial and industrial shares. The Russell 2000 index of small caps climbed about 3%. Treasury 10-year yields rose after slumping earlier Tuesday on speculation the Federal Reserve will keep supporting the economy with ultra-low rates amid a resurgence in global coronavirus cases.
