Someone is going home a little richer today after winning the jackpot prize on a Treasure Hunt ticket sold in New Kensington.

Lottery officials said the ticket was sold at the BP gas station at 7th Street and Linden Way.

It was one of two winning Treasure Hunt tickets sold from the July 12 drawing. The other was sold at Sunoco A-Plus in Uniontown. Winners will split the $130,419 prize to take home $65,209 each.

Both tickets matched all five numbers drawn: 1-6-7-13-20.

A clerk who answered the phone at the New Kensington BP on Tuesday was surprised to hear the news.

“I had no idea,” she said. “That would be great to have a winner.”

More than 41,900 other Treasure Hunt tickets won prizes in the drawing.

Treasure Hunt is drawn during the day, seven days a week.

The region has been lucky for gamblers recently, especially those who play the PA Lottery scratch-off tickets.

There has been a cluster of recent big-prize winners.

In late June, a $1 million-winning scratch-off ticket was sold at a BP store in North Huntingdon, and a similar payout was scored at a Wilkinsburg beer distributor.

In May, another $3 million scratch-off prize and two others of $100,000 or more were claimed in neighboring Fayette County, while a $1 million prize surfaced at the UPMC Mercy Gift Shop in Pittsburgh.

Treasure Hunt winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes. Winners should sign the back of their ticket and call the Lottery at 1-800-692-7481.
