TOWN OF SCOTT – Renovations are underway at the former Settlement Bar after it was sold last month to the owners of the Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay.
Originally listed along with a 10-acre parcel for $485,000, the turn-of-the-last-century building at 3254 Bay Settlement Road was purchased by Settlement Properties, LLC on Oct. 11 with a one-acre lot for $300,000, according to Brown County tax records.
New owner Ken Tedford, whose Tedford Enterprises, LLC owns the historic Riverside Ballroom, 1560 Main St., could not be reached for comment before press time.
Prior to closing its doors on Oct. 1, the Settlement Bar had become an institution over its 44 years of serving old-fashioned fried food and cold drinks to locals, tourists and travelers along Hwy. 57.
Longtime owner Chuck Bouche died in July, and his wife Kim said she never had any involvement with the day-to-day operations.
