A winning Lotto ticket worth $2.2 million remains unclaimed.

The ticket - sold at the Shell gas station at 1994 Whitney Ave, in Hamden - matched six numbers in the Friday, April 24 drawing.

The numbers drawn that night were 2 - 7 - 8 - 12 - 17 - 24.

Thea lump-sum cash value of the prize is $2,039,304

The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 7.1 million.

The Lotto jackpot is won by matching all six winning numbers drawn. A Lotto ticket costs $1 and players select six numbers between 1 and 44, or they can ask for a Lotto "Quick Pick" to let the computer randomly pick their numbers. The overall odds of winning a Lotto prize are 1 in 39.3.

For its part in selling the winning ticket, that Shell location will receive a $10,000 retailer commission.

Lotto drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 10:38 p.m. and televised on WCCT-TV. On drawing nights, wagering closes at 10:20 p.m. and reopens at 10:46 p.m.

According to CT Lottery rules, prizes must be claimed 180 days after the drawing date. After that, the money goes into the state’s General Fund.
