LUTZ — One Powerball player got lucky in Lutz on Saturday night, buying the only winning ticket sold for the $235.4 million jackpot.

The ticket was purchased the same day as the drawing, at the Publix supermarket at 16560 N Nebraska Ave at Florida Avenue, according to the Powerball website.

For the first time in nearly two months, someone picked all six winning numbers for the jackpot — advertised as $238 million prior to Saturday night’s drawing but estimated at closer to $235.4 million based on ticket sales, according to the website.

The winning numbers in the draw for Saturday, March 27, were: 6, 14, 38, 39, 65 and 6 as the Powerball. The Powerplay for non-jackpot winners was 3x.

Saturday’s winner has up to 60 days to submit the ticket and choose whether to receive the prize money as an annuity paid out in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or as a lump sum of more than $160 million in cash.

The last time someone won the Powerball jackpot was Jan. 30, when a player matched all six numbers in Cedar Knolls, N.J., for the $33.2 million prize.

Now, the Powerball jackpot will reset to $20 million with a lump sum option of $13.6 million. The drawing will be held Wednesday across 45 states, including the District of Columbia, as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Roughly one in 25 Powerball players end up winning a prize, according to the Powerball website. The odds of winning the jackpot are estimated at one in 292.2 million.
