SEATTLE — A federal lawsuit claims Seattle-based retailer Nordstrom sold counterfeit Patagonia clothing at its Rack stores.
The Puget Sound Business Journal obtained a complaint filed in court by Patagonia on Tuesday.
The company claims it discovered “obvious counterfeits” being sold in Nordstrom Rack stores this year.
Examples include T-shirts with Patagonia branding that have neck labels saying they’re organic cotton, but another tag says the products are 100% polyester, according to the Business Journal.
A Nordstrom spokesperson told the Business Journal that the company is aware of the lawsuit “and (we) take these allegations seriously. We are currently reviewing the matter.”
