Stray Kids launched a powerful comeback in early June with their highly anticipated album, 5-Star. The short set quickly became a sensation and exceeded all expectations in terms of sales performance. In fact, the album turned out to be a blockbuster in their home country, selling like almost no other collection in history has.

On June 2, 5-Star was released globally, and fans wasted no time in grabbing their copies. The album's popularity was particularly strong in South Korea, the home nation of the boy band. Within just one month of its release, the CD has sold an astonishing 5,242,486 copies, according to the Circle Chart, the South Korean equivalent of Billboard. This impressive sales figure ensured Stray Kids' dominance in the monthly ranking of the best-selling titles in June 2023.

While other renowned bands also achieved remarkable sales, Stray Kids faced no real competition for the top spot. Even Seventeen, another major group in the K-pop industry, managed to sell over a million copies of their album FML in June, despite its earlier release in April. That’s a huge figure, but it was Stray Kids' 5-Star that reigned supreme, overshadowing all other releases during that period.

During its debut week in South Korea alone, 5-Star sold a staggering 4.33 million copies, making it not only the best-selling album of that week but also one of the best-selling albums of all time in the country. The album's success didn't stop there. Even after the initial rush of sales, 5-Star continued to perform exceptionally well. Before July arrived, it had sold nearly another million copies, solidifying its status as a chart-topping phenomenon.

Stray Kids' dominance extended beyond South Korea, as their presence on global charts became increasingly evident with 5-Star. The album soared to new heights on various rankings and achieved impressive sales figures worldwide. It reached the coveted No. 1 position on the charts in several European countries, including Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, and more. Additionally, 5-Star claimed the top spot on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart in the United States, marking the group's third No. 1 album.
