YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — New and sold listings in the three-county area were up in May over the previous month, although still down quite a bit from the same time in 2019.
In the 18-county statistical area that includes Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties, Yes-MLS.com reports 5,090 new single-family listings in May, up 30.3% from April. Sold listings increased 4.3% month-over-month to 3,443.
Compared to May 2019, new and sold listings are down from 6,702 (-24.1%) and 4,510 (-23.7%), respectively.
Mahoning County saw 263 new listings in May, up from 193 in April, but down 26.7% from 359 in May 2019. Sold listings dropped to 178 from 204 in April, and are down 27.6% from 246 in May 2019.
The average sale price in Mahoning County last month was $140,689, up from $137,092 in April, and up 3.2% from $136,301 year-over-year.
In Trumbull County, 211 new listings were put on the market in May, up from 126 in April, though down 14.9% from 248 in May 2019. The county reports 131 listings sold last month, down from 153 sold in April, and down 35.5% from 203 sold in May 2019.
The county reports an average sale price of $125,071 for the month, up from $116,389 in April, and up 2.7% from $121,790 year-over-year.
New listings in Columbiana County reached 113, up from 70 in April. That compares to 128 listed in May 2019, however, a decline of 11.7%. At 51, the county saw just one more single-family listing sold in May compared to April. That’s also down 44% from 91 sold in May 2019.
The average sale price in Columbiana County in May was $157,184, up from $102,301 in April, and up 14.4% from $137,427 year-over-year.
