Knott’s Berry Farm expands sold-out food festival parkwide - OCRegister

Knott’s Berry Farm has found a way to survive during the pandemic while the state keeps theme parks closed with a series of sold-out food, beer and wine events that have proven so popular that they have warranted a sequel.

The Taste of Knott’s craft beer and food event will run on 12 select dates from Aug. 21 through Sept. 13 at the Buena Park theme park.

The Taste of Knott’s takes the concept of the sold-out Taste of Calico that runs through Aug. 9 and expands on the menu and the footprint of the event.

The Taste of Calico essentially recreated the canceled Knott’s Boysenberry Festival as a private ticketed event in the Ghost Town area of the park while Knott’s rides and attractions remained closed indefinitely.

The Taste of Knott’s keeps the Boysenberry-centric menu in Calico Ghost Town and adds barbecue favorites and Mexican dishes in the Boardwalk and Fiesta Village areas of the park.

Among the 35-plus food and drink items on the Taste of Knott’s menu:

  • Deep Fried Boysenberry Pie Bites
  • Boysenberry Meatballs
  • Corn on the Cob with Boysenberry Mayo
  • Smoked Pork Ribs
  • Shrimp Po’ Boy
  • Tater Tots with BBQ Pulled Pork and Cheddar Cheese
  • Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp
  • Jalapeno Chicken Slider with Crinkle Chips
  • Hatch Chili Mac and Cheese
  • Carnitas Fries

Artisan booths and select Knott’s retail shops will be open during the events.

Event admission will be limited to ensure reduced capacity which could lead to sold-out dates for the event.

Visitors must purchase a date-specific tasting card in advance on the Knott’s website or app that will serve as a Taste of Knott’s admission ticket. Taste of Knott’s tasting cards will run $30 for five food tastings and $15 for three tastings.

The Taste of Knott’s event will run on Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 9 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 8 p.m.
